Starland County is proud to announce that it has been selected as the 2015 winner of a Municipal Excellence Award in the innovation category for the development of our on farm solar power program. Every year an independent review committee made up of representatives from various municipal associations recommends award recipients for the Minister’s Awards for Municipal Excellence in six categories. Starland County was able to beat out other notable submissions in this category from municipalities such as Medicine Hat.
Starland County's program offers expertise and incentive funding for the development of private solar installations for our ratepayers. Following last years success and over-subscription we are still seeking applications for 2015 funding with five remaining incentive grants available.
