Verdant Valley Ag Society Recognized

Verdant Valley Ag Society received 2 marketing awards at the "Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies" (AAAS) Provincial Conference in Edmonton, Feb. 3 to 5, 2017. There were twenty award categories in all. This is the first year that the local Ag Society has entered the marketing competition at the AAAS Annual Conference. The Verdant Valley Ag Society was represented at the conference by Pat and Elson McDougald and Diana and Lyle Rowe.

Verdant Valley was recognized with a 1st place in the New Program or Event for their Draft Horse Competition that was held on August 13, 2016. The purpose of this category is to illustrate new, unproven or innovative projects, educational programs, events, agricultural shows, etc. that are produced or co-produced by the Agricultural Society. The category was for Attendance/Participants over 100 people and under 350 people.

The second 1st place award Verdant Valley received was in the Event/Organization Photo Collage depicting the 2016 Draft Horse Competition. The purpose of this category is to show an informative, interesting, or unique display of pictures from the Agricultural Societies events and organization. All entries in this category were judged as one class.
