Using this website

Starland County strives to make content on pages of this website accessible for all residents.

The website is built using flexible layouts that will adapt to small screens of mobile devices.

Our goal is to have pages conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Level A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Accessibility Features

By pressing CTRL and + (plus sign) on the keyboard or CTRL and SHIFT and + most operating systems will zoom in the page. To zoom out, use CTRL and - (minus sign). If using a Mac, the keyboard shortcut is command + or command -.

Enlarging fonts

This website uses relative font sizes. This technique supports users who change their browsers settings to use larger fonts. The help section on the user's browser will provide step by step instructions.

Images

Descriptive ALT tags are applied to images on this website. These tags provide descriptions of the images which are read out loud by screen reader software to their users.

Exceptions

Maps: We are unable to provide text alternatives for complex maps and mapping applications. To obtain information contained in such format, please contact the telephone or email listed at the bottom of the page containing the map.

Social Media: Starland County utilizes third-party providers of social media channels (FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) These websites have their own standards, not influenced by the County.

Videos: Videos in this website do not incorporate closed captions or audio description. This includes videos embedded from Starland County's Youtube channels and council meetings - both live streamed and archived.

Historical or legacy content and applications: Whereas we make every effort to develop content with universal accessibility in mind, resourcing constraints do not allow for retrofitting content and applications developed prior to April 2014 to conform with level A of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
