Grant Information & Provincial Programs

Canadian Agricultural Partnership

The Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a five-year, $3 billion federal-provincial-territorial investment in the agriculture, agri-food and agri-based products sector that began in April 2018. In Alberta, the Canadian Agricultural Partnership represents a federal - provincial investment of $406 million in strategic programs and initiatives for the agricultural sector.

Recent changes to Canadian Agricultural Partnership programs in Alberta will remain in effect for the remainder of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, which expires on March 31, 2023. Transformation at a provincial level is occurring to support economic recovery and growth, and to reduce red tape. The agri-food sector holds great potential for investment and growth and can support Alberta’s economic recovery.

Alberta Environmental Farm Plan

The Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) is a voluntary, whole farm, self-assessment tool that helps producers identify their environmental risks and develop plans to mitigate these identified risks. We work together with farmers committed to environmental stewardship. For some grants in Alberta you need to have a current EFP to access funding. Your EFP expires after 10 years.
